Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Lynn Heminger and Mike Doneen executed the following actions during the October 18, 2004 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:
Authorized a power sales letter agreement with Cowlitz PUD. This short-term power sales agreement will replace a portion of the power lost when Cowlitz PUD’s Swift No. 2 Powerhouse was damaged in 2002. (02-119)
Rejected a bid to provide Douglas PUD with 115 kV breakers and potential transformer footings at Terry Substation. Only one bid was received for this work. It was determined to be non-responsive. (02-220)
Approved acceptance of a subdivision power facilities agreement for Briarwood Subdivision, phases 8B and 9B. The developer, Fargo Development Company, has paid the Contribution in Aid of Construction and provided a secured funds account in the total amount of $58,108. (02-221)
Authorized the purchase of real property from Juanita Hadfield. Douglas PUD has the need to acquire property for the development of a substation in the Withrow area. (02-222)
Authorized Energy Northwest to refund a portion of the Energy Northwest Wind Project Revenue Bonds, series 2001, to achieve debt service savings. (02-223)
Approved Addendum B to Consulting and Special Agency Agreement for Safety Consultant services with ESCI, NWPPA and four other utilities. This resolution will increase ESCI’s rates by 5 percent. (02-224)
Authorized the renewal of Aircraft Non-ownership Liability Coverage with XL Aerospace. The premium price of $10,625 will insure Douglas PUD with a $10,000,000 limit of liability after a charter provider’s coverage is exhausted. (02-225)
**There will be a press briefing in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Board Room Wednesday, October 20, 7:30 a.m. to answer questions about the following three resolutions.
A resolution was introduced authorizing the District to enter into a settlement agreement with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.
A resolution was introduced authorizing the District to enter into a power sales contract with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.
A resolution was introduced authorizing the District to enter into a power sales service agreement with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.
Final action on these three resolutions is expected to occur at the regular Commission meeting scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on November 1, 2004 at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building.
